Suwannee Valley Resort - 2016
Suwannee Valley Resort - 2016
In the spring of 2016 we spent another six weeks in America, spending one of them at Suwannee Valley. After booking a cabin without a kitchen during our stay at Carolina Foothills Resort in 2014, we made sure that here we booked a cabin with a kitchen.
On arrival, we found that there had been a mix-up regarding our booking and the owner immediately offered us the use of a Winnebago fifth-wheel RV at the same price as a cabin - usually at least 25% more.
Suwannee Valley is a site of around twelve acres with over ninety pull-through pitches and four cabins and a few RVs for hire. Facilities include a swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers, a hot tub, a bar, a kitchen offering meals and a boule court. There is also a large area of woodland with paths running through it and access to the Suwannee River, but as this is on the very edge of the site, clothes must be worn.
Entry is at N30.3195° W82.7552°. There is coded gate and visitors are given the code after checking in.
On Friday and Saturday nights there is usually some form of entertainment. While we were there the Friday night entertainment was a singer and on the Saturday night there was a mind reader.
During our stay we visited the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center in White Springs, just a couple of miles away at N30.3308° W2.7614°.
Free wi-fi available
In common with many American naturist sites, Suwannee Valley Resort has a strict No Cameras policy.
We were unable to take any photographs of the site and its facilities, or even ourselves.
We even had to be chaperoned to take the one of our Winnebago.
Fortunately we were able to borrow some photographs from the resort's wesite.
